2018 Interior Design Predictions | Austin Interior Designer
2018 is slated to be a year of embracing more risk, home decor-wise. The long trend of all-white, all-bare will take a back seat in favor of warmth, color and pattern. It will find homeowners getting back to their beloved vintage pieces and mixing things more unexpectedly, in other words...some things we've long loved as classics.
Here are Turnstyle Designs trend predictions for 2018:
More pattern and texture. People are ready to give in to more sumptuousness, experimenting with pattern play. A signature in our own work, we can wait to see it more frequently in the New Year.
Kitchen cabinetry in color. Gone are kitchens and baths with the assured white for the risk-adverse. People are primed to test out color if even in more muted palettes as per our next trend below.
Earth tones. 2018 will see a nice delve into purer, natural colors. Think persimmon, terra cotta and rust - all good when you pair with rich browns and grays.
Metal mixing. Not that this has ever been taboo in our eyes, but nice to see people will feel more confident in '18 to use them all...together. Metal mixing means a certain irreverence to materials that never goes out of style.
